Meet Our Executive TeamRudi WillemsCEORudi’s responsibilities include all aspects of sales, operations, and development in the Vanguard Networks' Product division. He is pivotal in developing and executing Vanguard Networks' business strategy. In his previous role As Vice President Corporate Development with VanguardMS he explored new markets, strategic partnerships, M&A opportunities, and licensing possibilities in order to ensure VanguardMS' continued leadership and growth. Prior to his promotion to SVP of Vanguard Networks, Rudi was responsible for business development at Motorola’s Multiservice Network Division. He also held several sales, marketing, and business development positions with Motorola in Europe. Rudi has engineering and business management degrees from the University of Louvain in Belgium.
Dave FigueroaChief Financial OfficerDave's responsibilities include all aspects of Vanguard Networks' worldwide finance, tax, accounting, treasury, and legal functions. He also plays a key role in executing Vanguard Networks' business strategy and developing its financial models. Dave has been with VanguardMS since it’s inception in 2001 and led all transitional finance activities along with implementing new financial systems and establishing company controls. Prior to his tenure with VanguardMS, Dave held several senior finance positions within Motorola from 1987 through 2001, including Director of Finance for the Internet and Networking Group. Previous to that, he was with Allied Signal for 7 years. Dave received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Lehigh University and an MBA from the University of North Florida.
Juan-Carlos GarciaVice President, MarketingJuan-Carlos Garcia brings more than 17 years of communications industry experience to Vanguard Networks. In his last position at Converged Access as VP International Market Development, he was responsible for growing sales and market presence in Asia Pacific and Latin America Regions. Previously he was VP of Product Management defining and bringing to market a next generation of integrated branch devices. Before Converged Access, Garcia was VP of International Sales at Sitara Networks and VP of Marketing at VanguardMS. Prior to that, he held various senior sales and marketing roles with the Network Division at Motorola in the US, Latin America and Europe. Garcia holds an MBA from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Universidad de San Marcos, Peru.
Sergio GonzalezVice President, AmericasSergio has over 25 years experience in the telecommunications and IT industries. Before joining Vanguard Networks, he had several positions of increasing responsibility within Motorola’s Multiservice Networks Division in the commercial areas having originally joined the company as the Latin America South Cone Director in 1998. Prior to Motorola, Sergio had 20 years of experience with NCR with responsibility first in Customer Services and then in Networking Solutions. Sergio studied Electronics Engineering at the Universidad Tecnologica Nacional in Argentina.
Mark MurphyVice President, EngineeringMark joined Vanguard Networks at its inception in 2001 as the manager of the hardware design team. Since that time, Mark’s responsibilities have grown to include supervision of all Vanguard Network engineering-related product development and sustaining activities. Prior to joining VanguardMS, Mark compiled 10 years of experience in telecommunications and networking product development with technical leadership positions at Inchcape Testing Services, Zoom Telephonics, and Motorola. Mark holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
